Having worked in preschools, special education, child care centers, homes and early intervention settings, has provided Mrs. Tellez with a comprehensive background for understanding the development and remediation of communication skills. Carla is trained in specialized therapy techniques such as the Picture Exchange Communications System (PECS,) PROMPT, Oral Motor, and play-based therapy along with experience and training to treat pediatric feeding and swallowing disorders. She also has training in implementing and maintaining augmentative communication. She is licensed by the New York State Board of Examiners for Speech and Language, as well as nationally certified with the American Speech-Hearing Association.
